NEOS to Sponsor United States Snowshoe Association Team
Rock Island, Ill. – NEOS brand overshoes will serve as the first-ever title sponsor of the current 2008 U.S. National Snowshoe Team, to be known this season as Team NEOS.
”The USSSA is thrilled to see our friends at NEOS offer their support of our National Showshoe Team this coming season,” reported National Team Director Mark Elmore.
The 2008 U.S. National Snowshoe Team consists of 16 members from New York, Michigan, Wisconsin, Colorado, Iowa and Nevada. They were chosen based on their performance at the annual National Snowshoe Championships held earlier this year in Utah. The top five overall senior men and women and the top three overall junior boys and girls make up the team. Team members will compete throughout the U.S. and in northern Italy during the 2009 season.
“Forgive the pun, but this is a great fit,” said NEOS spokesperson, Arlen Stensrud, VP of Marketing. “We know the USSSA regional events and national championships attract a lot of fans, who are now more likely to associate our great products with these great events. We are very happy to be working with the USSSA people and these excellent competitors.”
NEOS had served as a contributing sponsor in 2004 and 2005. This year’s full sponsorship means the company will provide financial support as well as overshoes for the entire team.
Added Mark Elmore, “Our athletes love the NEOS overshoes! They are perfect for the sport of snowshoeing and snowshoe racing!” The team will be wearing the NEOS Explorer™ Insulated Overshoes, which were selected because they are perfect for the athletes to wear before and after they compete.
